About Jeepers Back the Blue

In 2017, Cpl. Stephen Ballard of Delaware State Police was tragically gunned down in the line of duty.

As a show of support for Cpl. Ballard, a jeep convoy was created to let the community know that jeep owners supported the men and women in blue. The show of support that year was both heartwarming and emotional as 75 jeeps traveled from Dover International Speedway to Troop 2 in Bear, DE.

Since that day, the desire from the jeep community to show support our men and women in blue has continued to grow. In 2018 we held our 2nd annual convoy, not to memorialize a fallen officer, but to show appreciation for all of those that have chosen to protect and serve.  With a total attendance in 2018 of 709 jeeps, our convoy from Dover International Speedway to Delaware park, stretched almost 15 miles along one of the most scenic roads in the state of Delaware.

At that event we were able to raise almost $24,000 that went to the families of 3 fallen police officers as well as scholarship funds for the children of LEO’s. It was then that it was decided to create the Jeepers Back the Blue Foundation so  we can continue this tradition for many years to come.

This event allows both the jeep community and the law enforcement community to show their mutual appreciation for all that they do for each other.
